Hi there Geoship community! 🌍

It’s Bas here, checking in with a very special update!

Morgan and I recently had the joy of showing Kirsten Dirksen around our Geoship prototype dome. For those who might not know Kirsten, she’s an incredible advocate for sustainable living, with over 1.5 million followers on her YouTube Channel and a popular blog, Faircompanies.com. She’s covered some amazing alternative home stories, so we were thrilled to welcome her into our world!

I know a lot of you have been asking about tours of our prototype dome in Britney Springs, California. While we're not quite ready to offer public tours of this early engineering model, Kirsten’s video gives you a front-row seat inside in her latest video covering Geoship on Youtube.

Watch along as she interviews Morgan and me, and we dive deep into what it means to “live in the round” and embrace a life more in tune with nature. And be aware, the 'behind the scenes' footage in the video is over 1 year old. We have advanced much in how we mix and make parts since then.

Some notes from Kirsten’s video:

“Geoships’ bioceramic structure is lightweight and sturdy, ideal for self-reinforcing geodesic domes using Bucky Fuller’s geometric principles, and adds a few advantages: the material is fireproof up to 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit (1482 degrees Celsius), and it won’t burn.
The material’s strength and the homes’ shape would allow Geoships to endure hurricanes and other extreme weather events, resisting also insects and mold. In the event of floods, bioceramic absorbs little water due to the dome shape and the way panels bond together.”

What are we building next?

Our first prototype is an 18-foot diameter dome built to test the materials and engineering. Our next prototype is a fully permitted 1,530 sq. ft. dome home with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an office, plus bonus space. It’s designed as a family home with an open-plan interior, offering room for everything a household might need, while still feeling intimately connected to nature. We call our fist real dome home “*Amma”. This is* where things really get exciting, and tours for this can start in the second half of 2025

So, while the 18-foot prototype was our testing ground, the Amma model will showcase a complete and permitted home.

A huge thank you to Kirsten Dirksen for sharing Geoship’s story so authentically! Her thoughtful approach helps us share our vision for resilient, nature-connected homes. Thank you, Kirsten, for helping grow our community and inspire a regenerative future! 🌍💚

You find Kirsten’s video on her Youtube Channel. Show Geoship and Kirsten some love!

Thank you for being on this journey with us and let us know what questions come up for you watching this video.

Stay tuned for progress updates!
